We know that whenever God is at work, or does something new, that Satan will be right there to attack it and try to undo whatever God has done. In the Book of Acts we see that God did some amazing, miraculous things -- saving 3,000 people on the day of Pentecost, healing a lame man, and bringing men and women together in large numbers to share life with one another.
In this well-known story, we see that Stephen responds to the accusation that he was speaking evil of God’s Word and temple. He responded to these accusations from the Bible and bore witness even to the point of losing his life, becoming the first Christian martyr. What started off as a defense turns into a message for his audience who had hardened their hearts against God.
