King Xerxes chased glory but received misery, trying to replace God with a woman to use, not love. Everything king Ahasuerus Did was to flaunt his greatness. Even the motivation for “showing off” his wife was to boast about his glory. (“Look what Have and you don’t” kind attitude) king ahasuerus’ Anger was rooted in his inability to self-promote to stroke his ego, to feed his pride His following decisions to divorce his wife and make a nation wide degree were born out of a fear that people would not see his greatness.
We are all prone to react the same way
